Bristol City are being linked with a move for Dundee United left-back Paul Dixon.
City manager Derek McInnes is in the market for a left-back after releasing long-serving Jamie McAllister and reports in Scotland are suggesting that the out-of-contract Dixon is on the radar of City, Derby, Millwall and MK Dons.
Dixon, 25, has already stated his intention to try his luck south of the border when his contract at Tannadice expires after Dundee United finish their campaign at Motherwell tomorrow.
He said: "I've made my mind up, to be honest, that I'll be moving on at the end of the season.
"I've had four great seasons at Dundee United, so I'll leave with a heavy heart.
"I just feel it's time for me to move on and get a new challenge elsewhere.
"I'd like to go to England, but obviously that depends on having offers. I just concentrate on playing my game – not paying attention to who might be watching – and, hopefully, my agent is doing his job."
Dixon started his career at Dundee, where he made 91 appearances, before making the switch to cross-town rivals United.
The defender has played 120 times for the Tannadice-based side and has two Scotland Under-21 caps.
He was also called into the full Scotland squad for a friendly against the Czech Republic two years ago.
City and Bristol Rovers will do battle in a fans' derby match at Ashton Gate today (3pm) with supporters going all out to claim bragging rights.
After a six-year absence, the event returns to BS3 today, with all profits going to charity – in the form of the club's Community Trusts. Rovers have the upper hand in recent seasons, winning the last two, but City's supporters have signed up ex-players Tony Thorpe and Mickey Bell, as well as the ever-reliable Scott Murray to bolster the squad.
There will be a raffle and auction to boost charity coffers. Supporters have managed to get hold of a signed Barcelona shirt, including the signatures of Messi, Xavi and more.
Other prizes include Albert Adomah's signed boots, plus signed shirts from Brett Pitman and Cole Skuse.
